China is the 1st country handled the Covid-19 case, and now many countries are following its experience. Some industries are blooming in the Chinese market after the outbreak. Maybe there is some indication for the North American companies:
1. Gaming Industry. People are now confined at home. Gaming is the safest way to do when you cannot go outside but still can keep a social conversation, especially for mobile games and online games.
2. Fitness Apps are booming. Although we can still go to the park, unlike the people in China, who only can stay at home, living in the apartment, Fitness Apps are always a good choice for fitness addicts to do exercise.
3. Short-video platform, like TikTok. Douyin is the Chinese version of TikTok. Below is the blooming trend of Douyin picking up from January. And one of the Tiktok features of its “ Challenge Game” that users can play at home makes it a hot entertainment platform. And now the TikTok App is the 2nd downloading App followed Zoom.

4. The fitness ring from the Nintendo Switch is another prized item as people are getting stuck home. In China, the fitness ring sells for a price of around 550 RMB. But resellers were selling it for more than 800 RMB, sometimes even more than 1,500 RMB, and still collecting thousands of orders at the people-have-to-stay -home period.
5. Online Health Services. Doctors can talk with patients online. And people quickly diagnose themselves online in some easy steps.
6. Enterprise Collaboration Apps are Becoming Essential. E.g., Zoom. This change will never go back. When people find that collaboration can go online, which is a time and money saver, the behavior will keep going after the crisis.
7. Online Education. Kids stay at home; education needs to be continued. So no other choice.
8. Ecommerce, of course. All the shopping goes online. In China, after closing lots of offline stores, more and more brands are going to the Chinese biggest e-commerce platform- Tmall, brands like Alexander Wang, Prada, etc, while most of them were not willing to open their online shop on this platform before.
As the old Chinese saying goes, a crisis is a combination of risk and opportunity. And a lot of tech companies are seizing this opportunity for growth.
